Crow sings to you
2004-04-25 - 11:38 p.m.
What could I do to you?
I could eat you
I could injest your flesh
and crush your bones
I'm an animal
and I am softness
and I am cruelty
I want more than I could ever need
I take as much as I can
without getting caught
I don't like to pay,
I don't know what coins buy,
but I need my nest of trinkets
because they sparkle
in the sun like life
And when I fall, when I die
they will fall after me
but never decay
because my ashes will
preserve them.
Don't speak
to me, don't touch
me or look at me, don't breath
in my direction
unless you can handle an
eternity of ashes
and buried treasures,
Don't love me unless you
can live without your eyes
in their sockets--
Just coo at me as you pass by..
I'm a pretty, pretty bird.
