Coffin Girl
2003-11-29 - 12:02 a.m.

She had the kind of beauty that was like a sharp stab of lightning in your side/ the kind of lithe grace that made you bite your knuckles and cry out in shame/ she wore silence in her hair/ time around her eyes/ and she wore it well/ thin limbs wrapped around a ghostly tree limb/ where some god pinned her helpless/ her hands like butterflies flapping, flying, hoping, pinned to her side/ her mouth twisted to a grimace/ tiny tulips on her prim white gown/ she had the kind of beauty that you noticed/ the kind that yanked at your insides/ she sang to you as she sank under the ground/ she whispered to you all laid out there/ she was so lonely she said/ lonely and white as stars/ but what could you do?/ you were life and blazing suns/ and she was a coffin girl/ death and silence a heavy weight of zeros and ones...
